How We Bill
FINANCIAL PLANNING / SMALL BUSINESS CONSULTING
Our office offers to all new clients a one hour complimentary consultation. The charge for planning services and consulting will be based on the request. The rate of $200 an hour or agreed upon flat fee charge will be discussed at your initial meeting. Prior to beginning, an engagement letter will be provided explaining all details and agreed upon by both parties.
ADVISORY SERVICES
We offer a variety of advisory services. Our fee is based on a percentage of the market value of the assets in your account under management.. We charge our fee quarterly in arrears which will be set forth in your written agreement with us. You will be provided a ADV Form from Jonathan Roberts Advisory Group to review, explaining fee charges details prior to our agreement.
TAX PREPARATION AND PLANNING
Our CPA fees are based upon the number of hours spent by the firm’s staff on the project you hired us to complete. The range of hourly fees will be approximately $85-$200 per hour.
All staff members in our office maintain a detailed report of time they spend working on your engagement. This time report is kept in quarter hour increments and transmitted to our time and billing system on a weekly basis where it is then converted to a dollar value based on the standard hourly rate for that specified employee. Our rates are determined by the use of the standards common to CPA firms and are competitive with other qualified firms in the Houston area.
It is difficult to estimate the total fees and expenses that may be incurred on certain engagements. Many situations may cause additional time to be spent during the performance of your engagement. The following are examples:
-
Tax research may be required when issues of tax law arise. There are over 12,000 pages of tax law and it changes daily. To give you the most current and correct answer to tax questions, research may be performed on your behalf. Research time will be billed to you as part of our fee.
-
If source documents are provided to us in an unorganized manner, time must be spent to sort through and organize your data so we can work efficiently and effectively.
There are a number of other factors that may be taken into consideration when determining our statement of fees to you. These include:
-
The complexity of the accounting, tax, or other financial issues involved and the level of expertise required to perform the service.
-
The customary fees for similar accounting, tax and consulting services. In addition to service rendered, any actual out-of-pocket expenses incurred by the firm on your behalf for travel, photocopies, postage and other matters, which we reasonably deem to be necessary, will be billed to you on a regular basis.
A deposit to be applied against future fees may be required before we begin work. We will also ask you to sign an engagement letter which will state the nature of the services you have asked us to provide.
Payments for services are due in full at the time you receive our invoice.
We sincerely hope the above information helps you to understand how our fees are calculated for our CPA's. Please ask us any questions that you may have. 281.370.0300
